Kabbalah Thought for this week

"To achieve a higher level of spirituality and existence, we sometimes need to "borrow" Light from The Creator in order to use it to awaken and arouse even greater Light in our lives and in this world. This is similar to a businessman borrowing money from a bank for the purpose of building a successful business. In other words, you need money to make money."

A very poignant prayer that gives us comfort:

Shabbat Mevarchim Chodesh Nisan

Saturday, April 6

Molad Nisan: Mon, 57 minutes and 7 chalakim after 22:00

The Shabbat before the start of a Jewish month (Rosh Chodesh) is known as Shabbat Mevarchim, “the Shabbat when we bless.” On this day, during the synagogue service, we recite a special blessing for the new month and announce the timing of Rosh Chodesh.

Shabbat HaChodesh 2024 / שַׁבָּת הַחֹדֶשׁ 5784

Shabbat before Rosh Chodesh Nissan 🕍

Shabbat HaChodesh for Hebrew Year 5784 begins at sundown on Friday, 5 April 2024 and ends at nightfall on Saturday, 6 April 2024. This corresponds to Parashat Shmini.

Shabbat HaChodesh (“Sabbath [of the] month” שבת החודש) precedes the first of the Hebrew month of Nisan during which Passover is celebrated. Exodus 12:1-20 and the laws of Passover. On the first day of Nisan, G-d presented the first commandment of how to “sanctify the new moon” (kiddush hachodesh) for the onset of Rosh Chodesh and thus Nisan becomes the first month of the Jewish year (counting by months.).
